Today, we’ll discuss the state of the market during the third quarter in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. The market continues to thrive in 2015. In the third quarter, the average time a listing is on the market is significantly shorter compared to last year. For example, last year’s average was nine months. This year’s average is six months. In short, houses are selling much more quickly.
The average listing price this year is $221,000. A year ago, it was $206,000. That’s nearly a $20,000 jump.

If you look at average sales, last year’s average was $167,600. Today, the average selling price is $183,000. That’s almost $12,000 more. This is great news for sellers - especially if you've been waiting for your chance to get top dollar for your home.
